“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” – Ansel Adams

How do I schedule an appointment?

The easiest way is to send me an email at Gordon@GordonSmithPhotography.com

Where will we have our photos taken?

We can work at our studio, your home, or anyplace hat you like. If there is someplace that’s special to you, that’s ideal. Traveling outside of the local area may require a travel fee.

What should we wear?

Solids and neutral tones. Bright colors, patterns, logos and graphics tend to be distracting in the portrait. Avoiding all whites or all blacks are good too. Please talk to us if you have any questions.

But Photography is expensive, right?

No not at all. It can be, but doesn’t have to be.

Do you travel?

Yes of course. Travel is subject to other scheduling and commitments obviously, and may incur a travel charge.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes we have liability insurance, and can provide  a certificate of liability to the venue of needed.

Can I just get the digitals?

Sure. When we print a wall portrait for you, (gift prints excluded) we give you a complimentary copy of the digital file. Additional digital files are available. Please see our investment page for pricing.

Can I print the digital files?

You may use your digital files for personal electronic use – such as Facebook, Instagram, etc, on your personal blog, and you can email them to grandma. But we can’t have the candy clerk at the local drug store printing our images. They don’t last, they don’t look right, and it makes you look bad, and reflects poorly on our name. We are happy to have anything printed for you at our professional lab. All our work is copyrighted.

Can I get the raw photos?

No we do not release the raw files. It’s kind of like going out to a nice dinner, and getting all the ingredients piled up on your plate. We are a full service studio, and pride ourselves on delivering a completed product. Not just the ingredients.

How long will you keep my pictures? What if I want to order more later?

We will keep them a minimum of 90 days. Unless storage becomes an issue we will typically have them .

I’ve worked with another photographer who gave me the disk and I’ve never done anything with them… Can you help?

Yes! We would love to help you finish the memories you started! Please contact us for help with this service. If you’ve paid for something and didn’t really “get anything” from it… Please let us help. Just make sure you have the rights to reproduce the images from the photographer and we will gladly work with you to get a product that you can touch, hold and feel!

Can I bring my camera to the photo session?

No. We do not allow other photography at our sessions. Please keep your cameras and cell phones put away.

Can I see all the images you take?

No. We cull through all images first. If images don’t meet our quality standards, or make you look good, we delete them. No one sees them.
